SINGING sensation Shanta from Fartown has made it to the final of the national Teen Star competition.

And she will now perform for a live audience and judges at London’s O2 arena.

Fourteen-year-old Shanta Pinnock, pictured above, has fought off stiff competition to get through a number of heats of the TeenStar competition.

The Rastrick High School pupil last month performed in the semi finals in Huddersfield and blew the judges away with her rendition of Pink's song Nobody Knows to secure her place in the final.

Shanta said: “I am very excited about going to London for the grand final of the TeenStar Competition.

“Each stage of the competition has been difficult because there is a lot of young talent out there but I have worked very hard to get to the finals.

“The experience has been amazing, I am a very lucky girl.”

Shanta has now organised a coach to London and T-shirts, hats, banners and tickets for all her family and friends to support her.

The competition is being brought by Future Music who produce Open Mic UK competitions.
