PERFORMERS of all ages are tuning up for a very special performance.

Around 100 singers aged between six and 80 are taking to the stage at Lindley Methodist Church.

The concert takes place this Saturday (March 9) at 7.15pm.

It features the vocal talents of two choirs, the Choral Juniors and Gledholt Male Voice Choir.

Susan Wilkinson, who is musical director for both choirs, described the event as an enjoyable evening of music suitable for all ages.

She said: “We want people to come and enjoy the evening as young and old sing and perform together with one voice.

“The choirs have always enjoyed their concerts together on previous occasions, although it is four years since they last sang together.

“The young people like to hear the male voices singing as it is so different to the sound they are used to hearing.

“It is always good fun when both choirs meet to rehearse together.

“The young people are really excited about this concert, singing with their old friends again.”

Music being performed will include Gary Barlow’s Sing! as well as songs from the musicals, spiritual songs and the classics.

As both choirs are charities, concerts are their source of fundraising.

The proceeds will help go towards ensuring future singing in their communities.

Tickets for Two Choirs in Concert cost £6 and £5 for seniors. For more information call Susan on 01924 404737.
