A MAN has admitted raiding Slaithwaite Co-op.

Mark Collins, 26, of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty to entering the premises as a trespasser on April 3 and stealing cigarettes valued at £9,000.

Prosecutor Abigail Langford said Collins’ guilty plea was acceptable to the Crown and he would not face trial on a further allegation of conspiracy to commit burglary which he denied.

Two other men, John Fish, 37, of Carden Road, Tyersal, Bradford and Anthony Farrer, 38, of Ramsden Avenue, Scholemoor, both pleaded not guilty to conspiracy to burgle and they now face trial on November 18.

It is understood that the conspiracy charge relates to attacks on Co-op premises in Meltham, Slaithwaite and Oxenhope.

Collins will be sentenced after Fish and Farrer have been tried.
