PUPILS from St Joseph’s Primary School have welcomed an Imam from the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community to school.

Imam Sabahat Karim met with pupils on a recent visit to assist with their learning about Islam, as well as building relationships with other faiths in the Huddersfield community.

Mr Karim also spoke to parents of the school as well as bringing an exhibition with him about the Muslim faith. He then gave the three to seven year olds a short talk about Islam.

The morning ended with an assembly led by children who were given the opportunity to ask questions at the end of Mr Karim’s talk.

A trip is now planned for pupils to visit the mosque next term.
