Staff at a Co-op store are hunting for Calderdale’s next big star.

Forget Britain’s Got Talent, this is Calderdale’s Got Talent!

Staff at the Co-op store in Stainland Road, Greetland, are organising the big charity final in September.

They aim to raise £5,000 for the Co-operative’s charity of the year, the Carers’ Trust.

Auditions will be held at Bertie’s in Elland on July 14 with the final held at The Venue at Barkisland on September 6.

The winner will receive £250 cash and a trophy.

Natalie Johnston, who has organised the competition with Katie Porter, said: “We hope people will get involved.

“I am sure there’s a lot of talent out there. It could be Calderdale’s Got Talent today and Britain’s Got Talent tomorrow.

“Maybe we can find the next big star.”

Application forms and tickets are available at all Co-op stores in Calderdale and Huddersfield. It is free to watch the auditions and tickets for the final cost £10. Companies wanting to sponsor the competition can ring Natalie or Katie on 01422 315667.
