IT’S a shock that there seems to be a problem within one of our leading orchestras.

Principal conductor Natalia Luis-Bassa left a Huddersfield Philharmonic Orchestra rehearsal on Saturday afternoon – apparently after a disagreement with one of the musicians – and did not return to lead the orchestra for its first performance of the new season that evening in Huddersfield Town Hall.

Whatever problems there may be within the orchestra, it’s a shame they have had to become public in such a dramatic way.

Let’s hope these problems are quickly sorted out so the orchestra retains its excellent reputation.
