Lindley Swifts 32 West Bowling 18

A SUPERB show by Swifts earned them a great win over a well drilled West Bowling side.

It was tough going for the Swifts in the first half playing uphill. Man of the match Ronan Sylvester powered through the opposition to notch his first try, but It wasn't long before West Bowling broke through to level the scores.

Nathan Taylor then did well to speed through for a fine try – but again this was matched by the opposition. Then it was grafter Ronan Costello who weaved his way through to put Swifts in the lead at half time.

Frankie Unwin made excellent yards during the second half and Costello notched a further two tries giving him a well earned hat trick. Niall McClory was alert to jump on any loose ball giving the Swifts more possession adding pressure to the home side.

Sylvester proved to be hard for West Bowling to handle and he broke through for a further try.

Solid tackling enabled Swifts to seal the win. Top tackler Luke Ramsden was yet again outstanding, consistent at the marker position and Tom Alexander also worked hard putting in some solid textbook tackles.

Ben Lawton supported his team mates well making some great ground and Ben and Nathan Jessop handled cleanly, and put in some sound runs.

And a special mention to the referee who was very fair with his decisions.

Swift conversions came from Alexander, Costello, Taylor and Unwin.
