Ten teenagers slept out last night in a bid to raise money for homeless people and anyone in crisis.

And they hoped their efforts would highlight concerns in Huddersfield.

Lucy Greenwood is part of a four-week Government programme called the National Citizenship Project designed to benefit local communities.

From 9am yesterday until 9am today she and her friends camped out in front of Huddersfield Library trying to raise funds to buy toiletries and food for the needy.

Lucy said: “We have decided our project will be on behalf of the Welcome Centre, which is based in Huddersfield.

“It helps not only homeless people but also any individual or family that is in a crisis and needs support and help with many other problems.”
