HOLMFIRTH on the whole has a forward-thinking attitude; an old- style attitude of ‘do or die’ mentality runs through the veins of many who live and work and enjoy its onward and upward mentality.
Mistakes are made, but don’t get on the backs of those who are trying to see the bigger picture. Get behind them!
Lights don’t magically appear; they appear because of the few. Most of the pre-planning, running around and organising were done by just TWO people, yes TWO, and they need commending and applauding for all their hard work.
Thanks to Kath Smith, who worked tirelessly and put up with the flack because she believed in the ‘bigger picture’ and Greg Christofi, who’s name is always linked with the “heartbeat” of Holmfirth, gave time and energy that you would not believe Thank you to both of you.
Oh, and then there were two men who worked day and night for two weeks (yes I said two men) putting up the lights and co-ordinating the final push to see that everything worked on the day! Thank you Peter Noble and Sandy Smith for making the lights work.
