Lindley’s second Winter Food Fair has been hailed a huge success.

Thousands of people attended the event at Lindley Infant School.

It was opened by Eric Paxman from Eric’s restaurant on Lidget Street, who presented prizes to Ciaran Allen and Katherine Ahern - first and second in the chocolate lollipop competition.

They were handed their winning lollipops, which were made by Marsden-based chocolatier Bagstock & Bumble.

Also on display were over 20 stalls offering a variety of locally produced goods. Bean Brothers and Fudgerrific gave demonstrations while local performers entertained.

Over £3,000 was raised to support St Stephen’s Parish Church as it continues to be an asset as a community hub for many groups.

Organiser Kathryn King said: “The food fair was a fantastic success. “We had thousands visit the event. The students from New College provided a wonderful ambience for our diners in the morning. Three stall holders sold out and many others had to send for additional stock.

“Special mention to our fantastic volunteers without whom it wouldn’t have been possible.”
