IT’S a club which received an Examiner Business Award for its community work.

And yesterday the community rallied around Huddersfield Town once again as it bids to raise £1m for charity.

On Saturday 175 Town fans arrived on foot to watch them in action – having walked 19 miles to Barnsley’s ground.

The Walk for Pounds fans were raising money for the club’s Keep It Up campaign, which supports the youth academy and Yorkshire Air Ambulance.

A group of teenagers also walked to the match in memory of their friend who died earlier this year. They were raising money for the Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice, another worthy cause the community of Huddersfield supports.

The action of the Town fans and the teenagers shows what a great community effort Huddersfield folk put into making their town a better place.

Well done to all involved.
