It's not official – but we think this video of the gorgeous landscapes around the town might just be the most beautiful video of Huddersfield ever made.

Drone footage shows the lush hills and scenery around our little corner of Yorkshire, including stunning shots of Scammonden Reservoir and the edges of Saddleworth Moor.

The incredible recording captures snow covered hilltops and sheep jumping playfully just metres below from where the drone is floating over the ground.

In another shot the camera records some amazing reflections in the waters of the reservoir as a wintry sun shines in the distance.

The video was produced by photographer James Brooks, who regularly goes out with his partner Sarah Jones to film from the skies or take photographs of his favourite beauty-spots.

James, from Bradley , said: “I took the footage when we had the first snow of the year in January. Around Scammonden Reservoir is my favourite place to take pictures and film as it really is gorgeous. Plus it's only about ten minutes from where I live.

“I first started taking pictures around two years ago, after myself and Sarah Jones started taking long walks along the Huddersfield Broad Canal and Bradley woods."

The couple also featured on the Examiner website last year after capturing stunning scenes in another drone video:

James added: “Photography started taking up more and more of my time and now it almost takes all of it up. We even take pictures at events, including live music, and weddings.

"I also won a competition to be featured in the Huddersfield Examiner's calendar a couple of years ago.”

James and Sarah also run their own photography company, called Yolofoto.
