WILLIAM Harry, son of Ashley and Lucy Pamment, was christened at Linthwaite Methodist Church by the Rev Jo Archer-Siddall during Sunday morning worship.

The gospel reading from Matthew 6 v 19-21 – Treasures in Heaven – was read by Linda Nuttall, who also played the organ. The Rev Jo read from Acts 16 v 1-15 which includes the conversion and baptism of Lydia.

In her sermon Jo talked about Christopher Robin’s trip to find the North Pole along with Pooh bear and his friends when they decided they would do better if they worked in partnership, likening it to our lives and how God wants us to work together to spread his good work.

The Junior Church with their leaders Joanna Ambler, Ed Archer-Siddall, Andrea Morley and Diane Loftus, followed the lessons of Friends and Heroes. Mr Peter Stead operated the audio visual equipment.
