A HUDDERSFIELD business enjoyed a tea party – Mad Hatter style – as part of an Alice in Wonderland charity fundraiser.

Wynsors World of Shoes hosted the charity event last month to raise money for The Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice in Brackenhall.

The tea party, raised more than £1,000 for the charity which helps children with life-limiting conditions and their families.

And staff from the store, in their sparkly high-heel shoes, were delighted to be invited to the new centre to hand over the grand cheque to hospice volunteers.

The event was spread over two days across the Easter break and an Easter Egg design competition, and raffle also helped the donations come flooding in.

Katie Greenway said: “When we decided to hold a charity event, we all knew we wanted it to be for a local charity, and especially one that supported children.

“We looked further into the charity and decided we wanted to help raise much needed funds and get the hospice open so it can support the many families that need it.”

The event received a huge amount of support from the community and local businesses, with many local companies donating prizes for the raffle.
