PUPILS at Wooldale Junior School are to have their winning designs printed on calendars which will be distributed around the world.
They won a contest, run by Walker Morris solicitors, Leeds, which attracted over 1,500 entries from children across the region. Among the judges was artist Ashley Jackson.
The pupils, who painted pictures to represent months in the calendar, were winners of the Huddersfield region and the Yorkshire region scooping four top prizes and six runners-up prizes, netting £1,000 for the school.
Deputy head Rebecca Starrett said: "We are all immensely proud of the creativity and talents of our pupils and are delighted to have performed so well in an art competition where the standards are always phenomenally high."
The winners were presented with their prizes at an awards ceremony in Leeds, on November 10.
They took home luxury art hampers and framed copies of their paintings which will be included in Walker Morris’s calendar, which will be sent to their clients across the world.
