YOUNG rugby players are celebrating their continued success.

This team of Year 9 boys from Salendine Nook High School, pictured, beat Dronfield High School 44-6.

The school is benefiting from a newly-formed relationship with Super League club Huddersfield Giants.

The club’s development officer Steve Beaty has coached curricular and extra-curricular sessions.

He said: “It’s great to see Salendine Nook do so well, especially after a short transition to rugby league.

“The players are really enthusiastic and have picked up the game incredibly quickly.

“As well as the Year 9 boys playing to such a good standard, other year groups have taken up playing and the school also boasts girls teams at most year groups.

“As a professional club we are committed to continue our great relationships with the local schools, but full credit must go to the staff.”
