THREE people were held at knifepoint in a terror raid at their Newsome home. Two men walked into the house on Ashenhurst Rise at 9.30pm last night and a knifeman held the three in the living room while his accomplice searched rooms upstairs. The three – a 53-year-old woman, a 23-year-old man and a 17-year-old girl – were all unharmed but shocked by their ordeal. It is not clear what, if anything, was stolen. They never saw the intruder who went upstairs and the knifeman had black material shielding his face – with no eye holes. He is African- Caribbean, about 5ft 8ins and slim. He was dressed all in black and was armed with a knife with a wooden handle. Read

A MISSING man has been found safe and well. Police had appealed for help in finding 70-year-old Edward Margach, who was reported as missing from his home in the centre of Batley on Saturday afternoon. He had gone for a walk, but did not return home. Mr Margach was found in Bradford. Read
