Artistic touch wins prizes

CHILDREN were presented with selection boxes by staff at Slaithwaite Post Office as a reward for their artistic endeavours.

Childminder Debbie Clegg, of Bobbin Close, Golcar, took the children on a visit to the office during the October half- term, where staff handed out pictures for them to colour-in.

The children’s efforts were then judged.

First prize went to Josh Holden, three, of Golcar, who received a special box of Ferrero Rocher chocolates and a £5 gift voucher.

Debbie said: “Unfortunately Josh was ill when the prizes were handed out, but I should think he was very excited when he found out he’d won.”

Also on the trip, but not pictured, was Charlotte Thornton, seven.
