Pupils and staff’s joy at perfect score

EDUCATION inspectors have given a Lindley school full marks!

Lindley CofE Infant School has been judged as outstanding in every category inspected by the Ofsted team.

The school’s headteacher was particularly noted for her “incomparable” interest and genuine concern for the welfare and progress of each of the 348 pupils at the school.

The school’s clear vision and high expectations for every child was also commented on.

One parent told inspector David Halford: “I don’t think that children could have a better start in their education anywhere in the country, at any price.”

The report noted that teaching and learning were of the highest quality and pupils make very good progress.

Detailed monitoring and evaluation ensures those likely to fall behind are identified readily and swift action is taken.

Children love coming to school are happy and positive and well-behaved.

“This really is a school where every child matters,” the inspector noted.

Strong governors and an excellent senior leadership team all make a positive contribution to this successful school.

A wide range of extra-curricular activities also enrich an already busy and enjoyable curriculum.

Headteacher Sue Drake said: “After all the years of hard work and dedication by staff, it is pleasing to receive recognition from the Ofsted report that the school has reached such a high standard.

“The school is very much a part of St Stephen’s Parish and the Lindley community as a whole and everyone associated with the school, staff, governors, parents and most especially the children themselves, contribute towards making it such a happy and successful place to be.”
