Keeping a town together

WHY is Dewsbury becoming more divided?

That’s the subject for discussion at the next meeting of a new campaigning group.

Dewsbury United was set up in November to break down barriers in the town.

The group plans to organise events such as litter and graffiti removal, replanting in gardens and social and sporting activities.

This month Dewsbury United will discuss divisions in the area.

Co-founder Kevin Hollinrake said: “Too often we let extremists from either side dominate the argument.

“It is time to allow decent people, the moderate thinkers, have their say.’’

The group will meet at Dewsbury Town Hall at 10am on Saturday, January 26.
