Easy way to find a dentist

PEOPLE in Yorkshire and the Humber have an innovative new way to help them find an NHS dentist.
The NHS Choices website, www.nhs.uk, now provides a new service which offers local people a simple, stress free way to find their nearest surgery accepting new patients.
Paul Johnson, Director for Public Health for Yorkshire and the Humber said: “This site helps people gain access to NHS dental services and makes the process of finding a dentist much simpler and less time consuming.
“A lack of information is one of the frequent complaints made by patients looking for an NHS dentist. This website gives you all the information you need.
“People tend to phone a number of dental surgeries. Searching this way you can find out who has a vacancy before you pick up the phone. The website helps you find exactly what you want.”
By simply logging on to the NHS Choices website, clicking on, ‘dentist’ and then entering a postcode, people can find out about surgeries close to where they live, their opening times and which dentists are accepting new patients.
The website can also help people find a number of other local NHS services including the nearest GPs, A&E, maternity services and where to find your local walk in centre.
Alternatively people can contact their local PCT who have telephone advice lines for the same information.
