Stuart and Pat Cross married after a seven-month courtship.

They met at a dance in Huddersfield Town Hall.

The couple, who live in Tudor Street, Slaithwaite, married at Brigid’s RC Church, Paddock.

They are pictured now and on their wedding day.

Mr Cross, 72, worked at David Brown Gears Park Works at Lockwood for 40 years, retiring as a quality control inspector.

Mrs Cross, 71, started work at Huddersfield Co-op, then went to Whitfield Brothers credit drapers on Manchester Road.

She ran a grocery shop in Carr Street, Marsden, for 15 years.

The couple have two daughters and a son, four grandsons, one grand-daughter and three step grand-daughters.

They have both bowled at Linthwaite Hall Bowling Club for more than 30 years.

They celebrated their anniversary with a family meal at the Golcar Lily pub-restaurant.

The couple enjoy regular cruises and are to travel to the Caribbean and South America as part of their anniversary celebrations.
