Victim fights back

A MASKED robber armed with a knife fled after his victim fought back.

The raider walked into SK News on Newsome Road in Newsome at 8.40pm last night and threatened the 52-year-old shopkeeper with a knife.

But he picked up a shop blind pole with a hook on the end to defend himself and the thief promptly fled.

The raider was last seen running towards Plane Street.

He is white, around 5ft 4ins and slim.

He wore a black balaclava and a green camouflage jacket.
