Family flee fire

A MUM and her four children escaped unscathed after a fire at their home in Golcar.

The family were at their home on Lilac Walk when the washing machine caught fire in the kitchen at around 4.15pm yesterday.

The woman and her children all managed to get out of the house uninjured. Neighbours tried to put out the fire, but the smoke drove them back. However, they managed to shut the kitchen door, preventing smoke getting into other parts of the house.
