A CHARITY concert is taking place in Huddersfield tonight to raise money for breast cancer sufferers.
Folk fans will be gathering at The King’s Head in St George’s Square, the former Station Tavern, to enjoy music from groups including Kimber’s Men and The Ugly Mug Jug Band as part of a monthly folk club night.
The event will help boost sponsorship for folk night organiser Alyson Harding who is set to take part in a 10k walk for breast cancer charity Walk the Walk.
Alyson has already completed walks in London and Edinburgh, raising more than £2,000 for the cause.
Now she plans to conquer Dublin in June as part of the Dublin Flora Mini Marathon.
The concert – which starts at 8.30pm – includes support acts Philip Jenkinson and Slaithwaite-based duo Barry and Elizabeth.
