Rat seen near to store

RATS have been spotted outside the Huddersfield branch of Asda.
A shopper noticed a huge rat in the trolley park directly outside the supermarket’s main entrance.
She reported it to staff immediately during her visit last Thursday and several members of Asda staff went outside to investigate.
But the supermarket has reassured customers that it was an isolated incident.
A spokesman for Asda said: “Some rats have been seen outside and around the petrol station forecourt and as soon as we were told we immediately contacted our facilities company to deal with it.
“The company have escalated their activity around the store and are carrying out checks.
“There is some waste land next door and we think that the problem is coming from there.
“We can reassure customers that there are no rats inside the store.”
He added that the supermarket has a good relationship with environmental health services and was always monitoring the situation.
Environmental Health say there were not aware of the particular incident and that no problems have been reported to them about the Bradford Road supermarket in the past.
