What a touch of glass!

GO FOR a drink in a bar and admire some classy glass art.

For Huddersfield designers Charlie Ross and Aidan Nolan have an exhibition at Sleepers Bar on Viaduct Street in Huddersfield town centre.

The 22-year-olds produced the glass images especially for the exhibition. The art is inspired by the Pennine mill architecture juxtaposed with modern construction methods.

Each piece is made from cut sheets of glass, which are UV-bonded and backed with enamel painted glass.

The pair met at Huddersfield New College, then went on to study at Dewsbury College. Last summer they graduated from Wolverhampton University.

They have recently set up Nolan/Ross, a multi-disciplinary design partnership.

Charlie said: “We put our name down to exhibit a while ago and were really pleased when we got the call to do it.

“We’ve done a lot of work outside Huddersfield, so it’s great to work in and promote the town.”

And Aidan said: “We’re eager to get people talking and would like to create something in a public space which people can use and enjoy looking at our designs.”

The exhibition at Sleepers Bar runs until March 29.
