Exercise scheme launched

A NEW water-based exercise scheme is being launched at Huddersfield Sports Centre for people with long-term conditions such as arthritis or back problems.

They will be helped by volunteers at the special Practice Active Leisure Scheme.

The volunteers will show people where the changing rooms and lockers are, how to get to the poolside and help ease them into the water.

All the volunteers have undergone training.

They will help at the Aquafit sessions at Huddersfield Sports Centre on Thursdays from 11 to 11.45am and Fridays from 12.15 to 1pm along with the adult swimming lessons on Thursdays from 10 to 10.45am.

They will also help at the Aquamed classes at Batley Baths on Mondays from 10 to 10.45am, Batley Sports and Tennis centre on Wednesdays from 11.15am to noon and at Spenborough Baths on Thursdays from 1.30 to 2.15pm.
