A SPECTACULAR circus featuring breathtaking stunts from world-class performers is coming to Huddersfield.
After a break of three years, the famous Chinese State Circus is returning to the town’s Greenhead Park on April 30, where it will stay for five days.
The circus is touring the UK with its new show called Olympic Nation Spectacular – devised to celebrate Beijing’s hosting of the Olympic Games this year.
The two-hour show promises to be as spectacular as ever and will include some breathtaking acts from the talented performers.
For the first time, the world’s greatest acrobats are joining forces with the undisputed masters of martial arts, stretching the limits of human achievement in an extraordinary show.
The show promises a dazzling spectacle of flying warriors, motor bike riders in the hair-raising Globe of Death and unbelievable acrobatics with the potential Olympic gold and silver medallists of the future.
Performances from gymnasts and famous martial artists The Shaolin Warriors will combine with specially composed music and an appearance from legendary fabled characters from the Peking Opera.
Other entertainment includes candelabra balancing knotted contortionists, Chinese pole balancing and a lusciously set and costumed performance of the Lion Dance. The whole show will be narrated by one of the most famous characters in Chinese folklore, the Monkey King.
Performances will run at 5pm and 7.45pm on weekdays, 3pm and 7.45pm on Saturday and 3pm and 6pm on the Sunday.
On May Day the performances will be at 2 and 5pm.
Tickets for the circus range from £7 to £27. Contact Ticketmaster on 0844 5765506 or book online at www.ticketmaster.co.uk
