TV NEWS presenter Nina Hossain has exclusively revealed to the Examiner that she is pregnant.

The 34-year-old ITN presenter and her partner, Stuart Thomas, already have a baby son, Will, who is now 15 months old.

And the couple are delighted he is to have a little brother or sister.

Nina said: “We are absolutely thrilled. We do want to know if we are having a boy or a girl, but we don’t know yet. It’s very exciting and we are extremely happy.

“I’m now 13 weeks pregnant and so far only my family, friends and work know.’’

Will was born at the City Hospital in Nottingham on December 1, 2006, weighing 6lb 3oz.

Stuart is editor of regional news programme London Tonight and the couple live in Nottinghamshire.

ITN plucked Nina from BBC London to present its evening news bulletin and she started her television career on Border Television in Cumbria.

Nina’s father was psychiatrist Dr Tobarek Hossain, originally from Bangladesh, who died aged 67 on Boxing Day 2002.

He came to Huddersfield in the 1960s and in 1973 set up the Kirklees Alcohol Advisory Service in the town centre.

He was also the founder and president of Concern For Mental Health in West Yorkshire.

Her mother, Pam, lives in Taylor Hill.

“It’s wonderful news,’’ she said.

Ironically, Nina landed the job with ITV because previous newsreader, Mary Nightingale, was leaving to have a baby.

But Nina has not just concentrated on news.

She filmed a cameo role in a feature film called Trauma starring Bridget Jones actor Colin Firth.
