Shannon family filmed for Channel 4 documentary

SHANNON Matthews’ family filmed a behind-the- scenes account of the schoolgirl’s missing days.

Channel 4 will broadcast the documentary at 9pm tomorrow night.

TV crews spent five days with the nine-year-old’s mother, Karen, and stepfather Craig Meehan before the schoolgirl was found.

A Channel 4 spokesman said: “The film follows every parent’s worst nightmare while finding themselves at the centre of a media storm.

“Filmed within the family home this documentary offers an intimate portrait of the Matthews family and a community united in worry, from moments of despair to relief as Shannon is found.”

Michael Donovan, 39, appeared before Dewsbury magistrates yesterday charged with kidnap and false imprisonment.
