Invitation to zoom in on the action

BUDDING photographers can get in on the action in a photo competition.
Organisers hope to capture a snapshot of life inside Kirklees as part of the competition.
Over the years Kirklees Image Achieve has collected more than 27,000 photographs of the local area.
But most of the images show exterior views of shops, factories and civic buildings.
So organisers hope to encourage people to create a picture of life inside Kirklees.
Categories include education, places of worship, public and civil buildings, workplaces, retail, domestic and leisure.
Talented photographers of all ages and skills are eligible to enter the competition will run from April 1 until June 30 when all entries must be received.
The winner of each category will receive a colour printer and their work will be exhibited at the Red House Museum during the Heritage Open Days in September.
For more information call into any Kirklees library, information centre, museum or gallery.
