Spring into action
Mar 21 2008 by Emma Davison, Huddersfield Daily Examiner
WITH the clocks due to go forward, Huddersfield residents are being urged to spring into action to help fix people’s ‘dicky tickers’.
The British Heart Foundation has launched its campaign to find more volunteers to help people beat heart disease ahead of the clocks going forward on March 30.
The BHF says that becoming a supporter offers people a great opportunity to make new friends and learn new skills.
There are no age restrictions and enthusiasm and a desire to make a difference are all that’s required.
Sue Green, fundraising and volunteer manager for West Yorkshire, said: “Without the hard work, commitment and loyalty of our volunteers, we would not be able to raise the vital funds needed to fight the nation’s number one killer.”
