A BLAZE which destroyed a shed and a garage used as a playroom is being treated as arson.
Firefighters went to Kingston Avenue in Dalton at 3.30pm yesterday and discovered a shed and the detached playroom in the garden on fire.
The flames were starting to spread to a shed and a garage next door, but crews managed to stop them.
Crew Manager Dave Chadwick said: “The garage used as a playroom was a timber-framed structure and has been totally destroyed along with the shed. We have put the cause down as deliberate and police are investigating.’’ A snooker table was in the playroom. The fire is thought to have started in the shed and then spread to the playroom. The shed next door was badly scorched.
