A HUDDERSFIELD photographic society has triumphed for the fourth consecutive year.
Huddersfield Photo-Imaging Club, based at Kirkheaton, won the Interclub Colour Group competition for its super snaps and photo-enhancing skills.
This year’s contest was the first to accept digital entries and 2008 marked the society’s fourth annual trophy after finishing champions in the previous three years.
The contest between 11 West Yorkshire photographic clubs has run since 1958.
The club’s winning entries and other prints are on display at a free exhibition at Huddersfield Art Gallery which runs until April 5.
Club president Graham Sykes said: “It was an excellent result and reflects the high quality of work from our members.
“We thought it would be a real challenge keeping up our record with digital images.
“The new approach has opened up the competition to a wider number of our members, many of whom have enjoyed developing their skills in digital imaging in recent years.”
The group was formed in September, 2004, by merging Huddersfield Photographic Society and Huddersfield Camera Circle.
The club meets at 8pm most Wednesday nights at Kirkheaton Conservative Club, 10 Town Road.
