Brothers charged after police sting

A POLICE sting has landed two brothers in court.

James and John Winter were charged with burglary after police rigged up cameras.

They appeared before Huddersfield magistrates yesterday charged with stealing a £6,000 flat-screen TV from a house in Riddings Rise in Sheepridge.

Wayne Smith, 23, of Ruskin Grove in Sheepridge, appeared in court with the brothers, charged with the same offence, which took place on Tuesday.

Magistrates sent all three to be tried at crown court.

The brothers were warned that they faced at least three years in prison if they are convicted.

Magistrates granted Smith unconditional bail.

James Winter, 23, was given bail on the grounds that he remains at his home address in Crowtree Crescent, Rastrick.

His brother, who is 27, was also granted bail, on condition that he remains at his home in Miln Road, Birkby.

All three will appear at Bradford Crown Court at 10am on Thursday.
