Martial arts event to raise money for Rainbow House

MARTIAL arts experts will demonstrate their manoeuvres to raise cash for charity.

The first Rainbow Warrior Weekend, which takes place at Huddersfield University on April 12-13, will raise money for Rainbow House.

The House, in Chorley, Lancashire, teaches self-help for parents and children with neurological disorders such as cerebral palsy.

Instructors showing their skills will include Jujitsu 10th Dan Soke Brian Dossett and Huddersfield’s own multi-martial arts champion Rebecca Kane.

Fundraiser Peter Thompson, from Wigan, said: “They’ll be instruction from some of the highest rated instructors in the world. It’s a great event to go to if you’re thinking about starting a martial art or if you have a martial arts club and you want to learn more.

“My own son (six-year-old Paul) has cerebral palsy. He’s been using the Centre for years and so it’s a charity close to my heart.”
