Village ‘gun’ man held

POLICE mounted a three-hour hunt for a gunman last night after an incident in Netherton.

The man was eventually arrested shortly after 11pm.

This was three hours after police had been called to a house in Juniper Grove.

The 40-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of carrying offensive weapons and also of criminal damage.

Police officers are believed to have recovered an air rifle and a knife.

There was damage to a door and a window at the house in Juniper Grove and also to a car.

No-one was injured.
