THINK you can play guitar? Try this six-neck 30 kilo guitar for size!

Music lover Keith Dawson spent £5,500 on the unique guitar which has six necks and 40 strings to it.

He is now challenging guitarists and music fans to try and play it in the hope of raising money for charity.

Mr Dawson is the owner of Musical Instruments For All on Diamond Street at Hillhouse.

His shop floor will become a stage for people wanting to have a go at playing one of few six-neck guitars in the world.

Mr Dawson said: “People won’t find it easy to play this guitar at all but it will be fun to have a go.

“Everyone who has seen it can’t believe how big it is. The whole thing weighs around 30 kilos so it can only be played sitting down.

“I think people will really enjoy having a go and hopefully we can raise quite a bit for the Forget Me Not Trust.”

The shop owner is charging people £5 for a 15 minute slot with all proceeds going to the children’s hospice appeal.

They will have to take on a 12 string neck, a seven string neck, two six string necks and a four and five string bass neck.

Mr Dawson added: “I always want to support a local charity.

“It will be good one day to see the benefit of what we have raised when the children’s hospice opens.

“I also have personal experience of it with a family friend having lost a daughter, so I always try to support children’s causes.”

The challenge is open to anyone wanting to take on the six-neck guitar with the open day taking place on Saturday, June 28 from 9am at Unit 3, Diamond Street, Hillhouse.

Places must be booked in advance and to book or for more information contact Keith Dawson on 01484 427 500.
