Carnival celebrates biggest and best show

THE biggest ever Deighton Carnival was held at the weekend.

The Deighton Community Carnival held its 7th annual event on Saturday at the Deighton Centre.

The event hosted a whole range of activities, including a five-a-side football tournament with teams from overseas, netball and basketball competitions, a Taekwondo display, and a boxing exhibition from former champion, Prince Rodney.

Howard Belafonte, event coordinator, said: “This carnival is now recognised as one of the major events on the Yorkshire events diary.”
