Crafty Kids can show talent

CHILDREN are being encouraged to be crafty at this year’s flower and vegetable shows across Kirklees.

The shows in Huddersfield and Dewsbury include a Crafty Kids section so youngsters can show off their artistic talents.

Entries will be displayed at the Dewsbury Show in Crow Nest Park, Dewsbury, on Friday August 8 and the following day at the Huddersfield Show in Greenhead Park on Saturday and Sunday, August 16 and 17.

The competition is for two age groups – up to 7 years and 8 to 13 years – and entry is free. Classes include displaying flowers, creating a miniature garden, turning a vegetable into a bird, baking, photography, making a collage and writing poetry.
