A MAN has been charged with harassment following allegations made against an estate agents.

Martin Frostick, of Oldham Road, Failsworth, near Oldham, was arrested by police investigating allegations that hoax letters had been sent out to hundreds of businesses.

The letters claimed that estate agency Ryder and Dutton had gone into administration.

The chain has a branch in Huddersfield.

Frostick, 52, has been charged with harassment.

He is due to appear at Oldham Magistrates' Court on Tuesday next week.

Police in Oldham led the inquiry after being made aware that correspondence was being circulated in the area about Ryder and Dutton’s office in Royton, three miles north of Oldham.

The investigation established that the allegations in the correspondence were false.
