A TOWN’S Kirklees Council payments office has closed.
The office in Heckmondwike closed its doors last week.
Kirklees Council’s Cabinet member for neighbourhood services Clr Liz Smaje said: “Providing a cash facility was no longer economically viable.”
Cash payments can be made for free at Heckmondwike Post Office at Market Street.
There are also Pay Points in Thoughts & Crosses at Market Street and the Shell garage at Walkley Lane.
Pay Zones are also provided by Jackson News and Dale Foodstore in the town.
Payments to Kirklees Council can also be made by cheque or card at the town’s library.
