Jul 23 2008 By Andrew Jackson
HUDDERSFIELD coroner Roger Whittaker has today returned a verdict of unlawful killing on the death of 18-year-old Adam O'Toole.
Adam died after he was struck by a blue Rover 200 car at a crossing on New Hey Road in Salendine Nook.
The incident happened at 10.30am on Tuesday, March 6, last year and repeated police appeals for witnesses, information and potential names for the driver have so far drawn a blank.
The car which hit him failed to stop and 18-year-old Adam, of Holmbridge, was taken to Huddersfield Royal Infirmary, but died from his injuries.
The car drove off towards the M62 and there was a sighting of a blue Rover 200 with accident damage driving along the A640 by the Nont Sarah's pub towards Denshaw.
The man driving the car was a white man in his 20s, with a thin face, prominent nose and long, dark brown unkempt hair.
At today's hearing in Huddersfield Mr Whittaker also urged people to think about Adam and his family and pass on any information they had to the police.
