Textile student’s prize

A STUDENT who became a mum part-way through her degree course has won a memorial prize at the University of Huddersfield.

Aimee Lassetter, 24, from Nottingham, won the Zoe Crowther Memorial Award for the most outstanding student on the BA Honours textile crafts course.

The award is a tribute to Zoe, a student of the University and mother of two, who died in a car crash on the M1 in August 2004 on the night of her wedding to Paul Williams. The couple lived in Newsome.

Aimee, who has just graduated, now plans to be a woven textile designer.
