CHILDREN at Buffer Bear Spring Cottage nursery, which is based at Huddersfield Royal infirmary, took part in a teddy bears’ picnic. They joined many schools, nurseries and children’s groups across the country to celebrate the 50th anniversary of famous bear Paddington. Parents and carers were asked to donate £2 towards a picnic and a treasure hunt. The children and staff then received a certificate and medal for taking part. All of the cash raised by the children will go to Paddington’s favourite charity, Action Medical Research, which is dedicated to building a better, healthier future for everyone. Children from the nursery raised £96, which will go to the charity’s Touching Tiny Lives campaign to help sick and vulnerable babies. Read
