Rooted in faith

THE Mayor of Kirklees welcomed a team of inter-faith gardening volunteers from all over Europe to the Muslim Community Centre at Clare Hill.

Clr Karam Hussain and volunteers were joined by faith leaders from around Kirklees in starting a gardening project that aims to promote international inter-faith understanding and an awareness of the environment.

The Mayor planted a tree to mark the occasion, which is to be an annual event.

The project is in partnership with Huddersfield Inter-Faith Council, Kirklees Faith Forum and Kirklees Council.
