POLICE in Huddersfield are appealing for information to help find a man who has gone missing from hospital. Edward Dontshenko, 30, who is originally from Estonia, was last seen in ward two of St Luke’s Hospital, Crosland Moor, on Tuesday and needs treatment for a medical condition. He is described as white, 5ft 10in tall, medium build with a fair complexion and shaved head, and was last seen wearing a black T-shirt featuring a subway logo, grey hoodie and dark trousers. Mr Donshenko has a one-inch scar on top of his right hand, a scar on his right wrist and a tattoo on his right forearm. Police believe he may have gone to Leeds. A POTENTIALLY lethal drug has been stolen from a house in the Crosshill area of Greetland. Police in Halifax are appealing for information about the 500ml bottle of Oramorph, stolen during a robbery yesterday. Oramorph is a potent pain killer and can be lethal if taken unnecessarily. MORE than 30 firefighters tackled a blaze in Ravensthorpe.Crews from four stations were called after a fierce blaze broke out in a stack of scrap cars.The fire was at a scrapyard in Low Mills Lane, Ravensthorpe, and broke out shortly after 5pm yesterday. Crews from Dewsbury, Mirfield, Batley and Ossett were called to the scene as flames engulfed the vehicles. Smoke from the fire could be seen for miles. Crews used large jets and water from an aerial platform to put out the blaze, but they were at the scene for more than four hours.The cause is being investigated. Read

NETHERLANDS: Scottish judge Iain Bonomy has been appointed to oversee preparations for the genocide trial of former Bosnian Serb leader Radovan Karadzic. It comes after war crimes tribunal president Fausto Pocar reassigned the Dutch judge who led Karadzic’s first court appearance. Judge Bonomy sat in the trial of Karadzic’s former mentor Slobodan Milosevic, who died of a heart attack in his UN cell in March 2006. Karadzic appears on August 29 to enter pleas to 11 charges, including genocide. Read
