GUTSY singer Nikk Mager will perform to thousands – just days after being told to give up his dream.
The Greetland man failed to win a place on ITV show The X Factor last week.
Millions of viewers saw judge Simon Cowell tell Nikk, 24, to give up trying to be a pop star.
But the former Huddersfield Grammar School pupil will perform at a festival in Norwich on Monday.
Nikk said: “I’m really, really excited about this.
“It’s a good gig, there should be about 10,000 people there. I think I’m going to be one of the headliners because The X Factor was so huge.”
He plans to do three songs – including Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol – at the Escape to the Music Festival.
Nikk hopes he can use the event to prove The X Factor judges wrong.
