999 chopper scrambled for knife attacker

A YOUTH was cut with a knife when he was robbed in a Huddersfield park.

Police believe the robber in Greenhead Park may be the man who carried out a knifepoint theft in neighbouring Trinity Street just hours earlier.

In that case a teenager was robbed after being followed from the town centre.

In the park case a 15-year-old was at the skate park shortly before 2pm yesterday when a man threatened him with a knife.

He was forced to hand over a wallet and a mobile phone and suffered a cut hand as the man fled.

Police brought in the West Yorkshire Police helicopter to search for the knifeman.

He was black, about 6ft tall and slim, with a red baseball cap, a black hooded top and black trousers.

Anyone who can help police should call 01484 436685 or 0845 6060606.
